It's difficult for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a team that has achieved everything.

That it took until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their hitters to possess a record if not provided the opportunity.

Finally, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given a chance to deliver her latest masterpiece.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

By the time she was removed Australia needed 66 more at run per delivery - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the confidence to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we are confident we can do it."

That comment will be the last competing nations at this World Cup need to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this triumph following win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.
